Election Commission to Announce Schedule for Haryana, Maharashtra Assembly Elections

It's election time again in India as states like Haryana and Maharashtra gear up for the 2024 Assembly elections.
While the Haryana Legislative Assembly is set to conclude its term on November 3, Maharashtra will conclude its term on November 26, 2024.
With these dates approaching, the Election Commission of India is expected to announce the Assembly election schedule for these states on Friday afternoon.
Haryana and Maharashtra have 90 and 288 assembly constituencies, respectively.
The Election Commission is also likely to announce the schedule for Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the Apex Court of India directed the government to hold elections in J&K before September 30.
In the past, officials of the Election Commission visited Haryana and J&K to assess the poll preparedness of the states ahead of the announcement of the schedule. However, the Election Commission has yet to visit Maharashtra.
According to the EC's official X handle, CEC Rajiv Kumar will address the media at 3 pm on Friday.
